Energy Performance Certificate
Energy performance certificate (EPC) is a scheme to rate the energy efficiency of houses in the UK.
The government has passed legislation stipulating that anyone wishing to sell their property must have ordered or possess an EPC when the property goes on the market. EPC's have been introduced by the Government to ensure the housing market is increasingly greener.
Once carried out, Judge Estate Agent will upload your EPC within 28 days of the sale's start date. Your property will be given a rating between an A and a G and the certificate will also include advice on financially efficient ways of improving your home's energy rating. The EPC will be shown on a graph, where A is the most efficient and G is the least efficient energy performance.
The Certificate is obtained from an accredited Energy Assessor, by the seller. An accredited Energy Assessor will visit the home to collect the energy data, such as the age of the property, the heating system, hot water and the type of insulation being used.
